Feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel - Anniversary of Trinity Testing for A-bomb

The development of the Atomic bomb, known as the Manhattan Project, needed to be proven by the actual detonation of the bomb. The testing was performed on this date, at a site named Trinity in the New Mexico desert.
